In House Therapy

Play Therapy

Our Play Therapist works weekly with our children to use a wide range of play and creative arts techniques, mostly responding to the child’s wishes and helping them to process traumas. Play therapy aims to support our children’s social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapist supports our children’s physical, sensory, or cognitive barriers. We develop individual OT plans for our children to support their SEMH and physical needs. Our OT uses a range of tools to increase children’s ability to engage in their learning and to feel safe and secure within our schools.

Educational Psychologist

The role of our educational psychologist is to increase our children’s SEMH development and their ability to engage within learning. Our EP provides staff with the tools and strategies they need to help children feel safe, secure and able to form healthy attachments within our schools. Our EP is highly specialised in trauma and provides ongoing training and clinical supervision for staff, as well as providing whole school and individual child support and family therapy.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and Language Therapy is integrated into our curriculum and is based on a needs focused approach, specifically tailored to our individual children. Our children access small, weekly social skills groups as well as 1:1 direct therapy, for speech, language, social or emotional needs, as and when it is required. This flexible and integrated approach allows for the most effective way of supporting children to learn, develop and generalise the skills learnt in therapy to the wider context and community.

Our school uses a range of different therapeutic approaches to support our children such as; Lego Therapy (LeGoff), Colourful Semantics (Bryan), Attention Autism (Davies), principles from TEACCH (Mesibov), Comic Strip Conversations (Gray), Social Stories (Gray), Shape Coding (Ebbles), Zones of Regulation (Kuypers) and many more.
